Roofing, Gutters and Siding Services
The work usually begins with a symptom: a brown ring on a bedroom ceiling, shingle tabs in the grass or a gutter sagging off the fascia. We look for the source before suggesting anything, since water often enters at a cracked pipe boot or lifted step flashing a few feet uphill from the stain. Depending on what we find, that leads to roof repair, a full roof replacement or a roof inspection to document the whole roof. We also do storm damage repair after wind and hail, plus gutters and siding, because water that leaves the roof edge poorly ends up in the wall cavities.

Roof Replacement
Full tear-off and rebuild, from the bare deck up, with fall protection, a protected yard and a magnet sweep at the end of each day.

Roof Repair
Leaks, lifted shingles, cracked pipe boots and loose flashing traced to the failed part and repaired with proper fall protection on your roof.

Roof Inspections
A free, close look at your shingles, flashing, vents and attic, with photos of each problem and a plain answer on whether it needs work now or later.

Storm Damage Repair
Hail and wind damage photographed, explained and repaired with safe work practices, from lifted shingles and bent flashing to soft decking.

Gutters
New one-piece aluminum gutters, downspouts and repairs, sized to your roof's runoff and installed from secured ladders with your yard kept clear.

Siding
Vinyl and fiber cement siding repaired or replaced, with the sheathing and house wrap checked before new panels go up.
How We Keep a Roof Job Safe From Start to Finish
A roof job puts people on a steep surface above your driveway, your shrubs and sometimes your kids' play area. We plan for that before the first shingle comes off.
- 01
Crews tied off on the roof
On steep or high roofs our crew works from anchored fall protection, and ladders are secured at the top and footed on firm ground. It slows the first hour a little. It keeps a slip from turning into an injury.
- 02
A marked drop zone around your home
We rope off the area where tear-off debris lands and tell you which doors to use while we work. Shrubs, AC units and window wells get covered, and we ask you to keep children and pets inside or well away from that side of the house.
- 03
Decking checked before anyone walks it
Soft or rotted plywood is a hazard for our crew and a weak base for new shingles. We check it from the attic and again once the old roof is off, then show you photos of any boards that need replacing before we put them in.
- 04
Nails gone before you get your yard back
Loose roofing nails flatten tires and end up in bare feet. We run a rolling magnet over the lawn, driveway and beds at the end of each work day, not just on the last one.
- 05
Straight answers in writing
You get a written, line-item estimate that names the materials, the flashing work and any decking allowance. If a repair will hold, we say so instead of pushing a new roof.
How a Job Runs With Us
Here is what happens between your first call and the final walk-through.
- 1
Your call and a free inspection
You tell us what you are seeing, and we set a time to look. We check the shingles, flashing, gutters and attic ventilation, and take photos of anything worth discussing.
- 2
A written estimate and an honest answer
We explain whether repair or replacement makes more sense and why. The estimate lists materials, labor and any decking allowance line by line.
- 3
Site setup on work day
Before anyone climbs, we place and secure ladders, set the dumpster, mark the drop zone and cover plants and equipment. We go over which areas of your home to avoid while the crew is overhead.
- 4
Tear-off, repair and installation
We strip to the deck, replace damaged boards, then install underlayment, flashing, shingles and ridge vent in order. Each evening the roof is left watertight and the yard is swept for nails.
- 5
Cleanup and walk-through
We do a final magnet sweep and haul off all debris. Then we walk the job with you and point out the work we did.

A Roofing Company That Plans the Safe Way First
Roofing Alexandria works on homes across the area, from quick shingle repairs to full tear-offs, along with the gutters and siding that keep water moving away from your walls. We are precise about the parts: drip edge, step flashing, pipe boots, starter strip, ridge vent. Most leaks and early failures come from one of those being skipped or installed out of order.
We put safety at the center because a roof job happens right on top of your household. That means anchored fall protection for our crew, a clear drop zone for debris and a yard you can walk barefoot when we leave. It also means telling you plainly what we found and what it will take to fix.
What Goes Into a Roof Price
Two homes that look alike from the street can end up with very different roof costs. The final figure comes from our measurements and from what we find under the shingles. Here are the items that weigh most.
After the free inspection, your written estimate shows each of these as a separate line. If tear-off reveals rot or damage we could not see before, we stop, photograph it and get your okay before any added work.
- Size and pitch of the roof
- Square footage sets the material order. A steeper slope needs more staging, roof jacks and fall protection, and it slows both the tear-off and the install.
- How many layers come off
- Plenty of older homes got a second roof nailed over the original. Pulling off both takes more labor and more dumpster room, and the sheathing that carried the added weight deserves a careful check.
- Decking condition
- Plywood or plank sheathing tends to go soft where water sat under worn shingles. We only see how far it goes after tear-off, so the estimate carries a fixed price per sheet for any replacement.
- Shingle and underlayment choices
- Architectural shingles, synthetic underlayment and ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys all move the total. Northern Kentucky winters freeze and thaw again and again, so we recommend ice and water shield anywhere ice dams form.
- Openings and flashing
- Each chimney, skylight, plumbing vent and wall joint gets new flashing or a new boot. More openings mean more detail work and more places that have to be done correctly.
- Access, permits and debris removal
- Where the dumpster can sit, how close we can reach the house and whether a permit is required all change the price. Tight access means carrying materials by hand, which takes longer.
Questions We Hear From Homeowners
Should I repair my roof or replace it?
We look at three things: the age of the shingles, how far the damage spreads and whether the decking below is still solid. A cracked pipe boot or a handful of missing tabs calls for a repair. Curling shingles, slopes stripped of granules and decking that flexes when you step on it usually mean the roof is near the end. Either way, we walk you through the photos and how we reached our answer.
Is the estimate actually free?
Yes. The inspection and the written estimate cost you nothing, and you are not obligated to hire us. We are also running Limited Time — $50 Off Your First Service Call.
Is it okay for my family to be home while you work?
Yes, with a few precautions. We tape off the spot where debris falls and tell you which doors and walkways to avoid. Keep kids and pets indoors or on the opposite side of the house, and move cars out of the driveway if the dumpster goes there. Tear-off is noisy, and the house may shake a little inside.
Will insurance cover storm damage to my roof?
Coverage is decided by your insurer and its adjuster, not by a roofer. We inspect, photograph any wind or hail damage and explain it so you can decide whether a claim is worth filing. If you file, we can explain the usual steps from inspection through settlement. Our Storm Damage Repair page has more.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family homes take one to three days on site, depending on size, pitch, how many layers come off and how much decking needs replacing. Rain can push back the start, but we never open more roof than we can seal by evening, so your home is never left exposed overnight.
Why do ice dams form, and can they be stopped?
Heat escaping into the attic melts snow higher on the roof, and the water refreezes when it reaches the cold eaves. That ridge of ice forces meltwater back under the shingles. We address both sides: ice and water shield at the eaves, and a check of attic insulation and ventilation to keep the deck cold. Please don't chip the ice off yourself; it is risky for you and hard on the shingles.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes. Our roofing work comes with a 10-year labor warranty. If an installation fails because of the way we installed it, we come back and make it right. We go over the coverage with you along with your estimate.
Can you handle gutters and siding during the roof job?
Yes, and it often makes sense. Drip edge and gutters work together to carry water off the roof edge, and siding damage near the roofline is easier to reach while our setup is already there. Each piece gets its own price so you decide what to do now.
Find Out What Your Roof Needs
We will climb up, photograph the shingles, flashing and decking we can reach, and put every line of the price in writing. Nothing gets scheduled until you decide.
