Towns on Our Regular Route

Alexandria, Cold Spring and Claryville sit closest to home, so we are on roofs there nearly every week. Fort Thomas, Newport and Covington see us often too, along with Edgewood and Independence. Each of these towns gets the full list of what we offer: roof repair, roof replacement, roof inspections, storm damage repair, gutters and siding.

We travel to New Richmond, Amelia and Forestville as well. Distance does not change how we run a job. Before anyone climbs, we walk the property, note power lines and the service drop, check where kids and pets play, and decide where debris will come down. Your estimate then comes on paper with labor, materials, tear-off and disposal, and any permit cost shown as separate entries, which makes it easy to hold up against another bid.

What Shapes Roof Work in This Area

  1. 01

A mix of older and newer homes

The area has older houses with steep gables, board decking and sometimes two layers of shingles, next to newer homes with OSB sheathing and lower pitches. A second layer adds weight and hides soft decking, so on older homes we plan a full tear-off and check every sheet before new underlayment goes down.

  2. 02

    Freeze and thaw winters

Winters here swing above and below freezing many times. Water that gets under a lifted shingle or cracked pipe boot freezes, expands and pries the opening wider. Snow melting over a warm attic can refreeze at the eave and back up as an ice dam, which is why we install ice and water shield along the eaves and valleys on replacements.

  3. 03

    Spring and summer storms

Thunderstorms bring wind gusts that crease shingle tabs and break the seal strip, and some bring hail that bruises the mat. We photograph what we find, from the ridge to the gutters, so you can see the damage before deciding on a repair or an insurance claim.

  4. 04

    Wet roofs and steep pitches

Morning dew, fall leaves and spring rain make shingles slick. We do not walk a wet roof. Steep pitches get roof jacks and toe boards, and each worker on them is tied to an anchor, whatever the weather report says.

  5. 05

    Permits and inspections

Permit rules differ from one city and county to the next across the area. We check what your local building department requires for a reroof and pull the permit when one is needed, then schedule any inspection so the work is on record.
